A new marketing system that may emerge power to rule the world of economy is Multi Level Marketing (M.L.M.). It is very efficient and promising field of marketing. But here we checks whether Islam supports or discards M.L.M. type marketing technique. In this post first we become familiar with M.L.M. and Islamic concepts of marketing at last we check the M.L.M in Islamic view.
M.L.M. (Multi Level Marketing):
Multi Level Marketing is a new marketing technique ; which divides the income into the members of each M.L.M Company. The main concept of M.L.M is that ;Today the major share of product price will for advertisement.so if the customers or distributors is act as an advertiser so we can save that much money. so that money we can distribute among customers.so we can earn money while purchasing a product.
For participating an M.L.M. Network we must purchase a product or we get a service from the company. Then we get a position in M.L.M tree under your sponsor. A sponsor is who we depend to buy that product or whom advice you to participate. Then we advice others to get join for each joining we get paid .
Islamic Concept of Marketing
As a Universal Religion Islam has it own concept of marketing.Islamic view of marketing is mainly Intended to swept out all the injustice in the field of marketing. Allah says" business and interest are alike but I allow business to you and resist interest from you ". In this quote Allah allowing us to make money with business and not allow interest, because in business we want to take risk and hard work for make it profitable .But in the case of interest we make use the need of a buyer or a person it is an injustice case. From this can conclude that Islam only supports making money with human power or with a work.
M.L.M. vs ISLAM
With the above facts we are now going to check weather Islam supports or resists Multi Level Marketing.
Mainly M.L.M companies are two types. First one, a company launch for starting an M.L.M . Tree and they search for a product or a service as compensation. The second one, an existing production or service providing company may use M.L.M. Technique as an advertising method.
The former one is not supported by Islam because they only concentrate on M.L.M. tree and develop M.L.M. chain. They will not concentrate on product quality this will not suffer Islam because this is come under cheating and extravagance. Also a type of gambling is that type of M.L.M. so Muslim must avoid open this type of company.
The later one may allowed in Islam because a product selling company is mainly concentrated on it quality. They only make M.L.M. as its one of advertising method and distribute their profit to their customers. This is acceptable by Islam .
In a customer's view , if we want any products for our personal or any other uses , then only they may allowed to purchase from M.L.M. companies. And they are not allowed to peruse another person to buy the product or take part of M.L.M. when they don't need that product. we can only refer them to buy the product when they need that product.
So think wisely and be a better business man as well as a good religious person.
